这是为振兴日本传统文艺，在善光寺正面参拜路边建造的一座剧场。外观特点是日本传统的歌舞伎座（剧场）风格。在这里上演歌舞伎、木偶净琉璃戏等日本传统文艺，还举办单口相声和音乐实况转播等各种活动。
